Broad stripes and bright stars, and the rocket's red glare

I never would have imagined needing a coat and blankets to watch the fireworks in July, but that's exactly what we needed tonight. As I type, I am all bundled up in a quilt because I got so chilled tonight!

It was an excellent day, starting with a parade and ending with fireworks. Moses enjoyed every bit of it, and his little flag didn't leave his side all day. In fact, he went to bed with it tonight.

I don't think it gets much more American than watching fireworks shot over a corn field:

But he got used to it after a few minutes:
