Easy enough! Except I had a special surprise... I've had some glow bracelets stuck away for a couple of years. I wasn't sure if they would still work, and half of them didn't. But 5 of them did, and the kids had A BLAST. In fact, I think this might have been their favorite "Fun Friday" yet!
But I am hitting a "Fun Friday" mental block. I need some more stay-in-the-house fun ideas. We've done cookies. We've played board games. I needs something fresh and new!
So here is what I am proposing. I know that I have a lot of people visiting the blog- over 1000 hits in the last month (I don't know how that can be accurate, but that is what blogger says). So I would love to know who you are!
Leave a comment to this post with an idea of what we can do for our next Fun Friday. I will use one of those ideas next week. If I use your idea, I will send you a $5 gift card to Starbucks. Every comment (with a legitimate Fun Friday idea) will count as an additional entry.
Remember: something we can do inside the house that is practical but fun (and not expensive)!
Leave a comment between now and Wednesday at 11:59 pm. I will reveal who wins on the "Fun Friday" post next week!

ooo I want to play! Here's an idea. We had a beach party! We got out all things having to do with swimming... suits, towels, goggles. put beach towels on windows for color.. And then we had a beach picnic . Our food was campout food, hotdogs, string potatoe chips (that was a gramma thing) and then we made s'mores in the microwave. I will never forget Gene's face when he came home from work. (he was frozen, there was snow and wind, etc) The kids and I were all spread out on our beach towels, sunning ourselves, sipping drinks with umbrellas in them. hilarious
Ok, one of our favorites is plain and simple hide and seek with some variations. Sometimes we'll just play the regular version with the smallest player always helping the seeker. Sometimes we will take turns hiding a small toy to find. That can turn into hot and cold. We get creative with what we hide and hiding places.Sometimes each kid has something they find so it can be harder and easier. My favorite though was when Ryan told the kids they were pirates and created a treasure map that led to other maps eventually leading to a some item we chose. They got a kick out of that. All of these were done inside (and we have a small house) and costed nothing. ;)
Love the beach party idea :)
We did an obstical course one day--I used a stop watch to time the kids and they would try to beat thier time.
We also like to have pizza parties--I make dough and put out all the toppings. Each person gets to make their own personal pizza. We also do ice cream sundae parties.
I'll see if I can think of any more... good luck!!
quick lunchtime twist on personal pizzas: make them on english muffins, and pop them in the oven for a short time to melt the cheese!
always a favorite around here: any kind of fort, made from sheets or blankets, with flashlights and sleeping bags underneath!
