Like we did last year, K and I put up and decorated the Christmas tree after Moses was in bed (for quite a while actually-- because we have so much going on right now, we weren't even decorating it until 1:00 this morning....).
I am SO pleased with our new tree! I really dragged my feet on getting an artificial tree, but this one did not disappoint. I can sit next to it and not tell it is artificial (except it does lack that good Christmas tree smell).
Then he tried to eat the apple:
Then he had to run back and get a look from a distance:

And of course, the butterfly on the tree immediately became "Hermie":

We had one more surprise for him this morning. He hasn't been eating very well at breakfast-- I think he is tired of Cheerios and oatmeal breakfast bars/cookies. So we did what any good parents would do-- we bought powdered sugar doughtnuts. And let him eat them on the couch.

Ah, life is good.
But I had been under the impression that artificial trees meant you no longer had the risk of bringing wildlife into the house with you. I guess I was wrong.
