More Tidbits

Even though our week (and weekend) were SO busy, we still had some fun. Here are some highlights:

Moses

Moses now knows ALL of his capital letters! (Although sometimes he still gets confused by J, K, and W). And he knows quite a few small letters (including e and f). He makes me so proud! But we are still working on getting him to speak in sentences...

Valentines Day

I worked about 14 hours on Valentine's Day, but we still tried to make it special for Moses. We ordered a heart-shaped pizza from a local pizzaria, and I made some quick sugar cookies with Pillsbury icing (Pillsbury and I make a great team :)). We have a tradition in our house of buying books for Moses for V-Day. Daddy got him Sheep in a Shop, and Mommy got him Horton Hears a Who. And Daddy got Mommy gorgeous pink roses (a fav of mine), a pound of caramel kiss coffee (which was the same thing he got me for our very first V-Day), chocolates, and a new book. He has me pegged pretty well. :)

Shopping Day

While K painted the dining room on Saturday, Moses and I went for a shopping trip, and he was an ANGEL. No fussing at all, even though he was in the stroller for over 2 hours! We went to the coffee shop in the mall and split a little loaf of pumpkin bread. He thought he was pretty special. Then he sat there and looked at his new Melissa & Doug alphabet puzzle and announced all of the letters to other customers while Mommy finished her latte. He was even a good boy while Mommy shopped and tried on clothes. It was SUCH a good morning. One of those mornings that make a whole week of teething/fussing worth it. I really needed that after working such long hours this week.

Dinner and Dancing

K took me to a local high-school fundraiser last night. A very nice restaurant provided a Valentine dinner, and a small jazz ensemble played. It was probably only the fifth or sixth time since Moses was born that we went out just the two of us. It was wonderful to be able to talk, just the two of us, and not have to share food with the little man, but I was more than ready to see him when we got home!

The House
Since there are a lot of nooks and crannies in our dining room (with built-ins and whatnot), K only got the primer on the walls yesterday. But things are coming along pretty well, and we ordered this (in black) and a couple of these (also in black) this week. I CAN'T WAIT until the dining and living rooms are painted! It will make a world of difference. And with the kitchen cart, I will get even more cabinet space as well as a place for Moses to sit while Mommy bakes! I am continually so thankful for all that God has provided for us.

I have a similar kitchen cart and I LOVE it. My kitchen is so small and barely has any counter space, so it has been a life-saver. I'm sure you will love having it!!

I'll be praying for you today and tomorrow. Remember that "With man this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible." :-D

Seriously, all of his letters? Isn't he way young for that? Very impressive!

I prayed this morning that you'll be able to find some rest in the midst of this busy time!
